A few days ahead of the Festival proper, on the 12th of June join us to kick off the 2017 celebration of community food growing and enjoy an informal evening of food and conversation.
We’re delighted that The Real Junk Food Project will be cooking up a storm, feeding bellies not bins, and serving up a pay-as-you-feel meal from the Ostara Café kitchen.
It won’t just be our tummies that get nourished, our brains will too. During the course of the evening, we’ll enjoy short conversation starters by:
- Ewan Aitken of the Cyrenians, who’ll be sharing his thoughts on the theme of ‘Something to eat, someone to eat with’
- David McVey, our host and owner of the Ostara Café, will reflect on his community food growing research findings
- Leonie Alexander of Edinburgh Living Landscape / Botanics Edible Gardening will stimulate our thinking on the importance of soil and biodiversity
We look forward to welcoming you on the evening of Monday 12th June and telling you all about the exciting programme in store for this year’s Festival.
We have very few places so please only book if you’re committed to coming along.
